We stopped in Friday at noon and I had the best beef brisket sandwich anyone could ask for. The chicken dumpling soup was also excellent. We will be back soon.

I am a burger lover, never was into steak, but chop it up and put between a bun…now you’re talking! I’ve been here twice now and have had the Western Burger and the Jack Daniels Burger and they were both absolutely delicious! The meat is quality and cooked to perfection, the toppings made both burgers unique and the ciabatta bun puts it over the top. My mouth is watering just writing about it. The fries are also great, I don’t like fries that are soggy or too thick like steak fries, these are neither…crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside.
We also had cheese curds and onion rings as appetizers, both were also wonderful. I can’t say enough good things about the food here. They obviously pride themselves on serving quality food. Their website says fine family dining, and it is quite accurate. If you are in the Pickerel area, or even in Antigo, give this place a try, you won’t be disappointed.

My husband and I decided to just go for a ride today and found this little gem of a place in Pickerel, WI. The food was absolutely amazing! I had the brisket sandwich and my husband had the French dip sandwich. We both had the salad bar – very fresh and yummy! We also had the stuffed green pepper soup. Had such an enjoyable time visiting with and hearing all about the story of Perry and Kelly! Can’t wait to come back in the summer for some of the fun activities they have in their outdoor venue – Lynrd Skynrd cover band, Tom Petty cover band, fireworks (just to name a few)! If you’re looking for a nice drive in the Northwoods, type in Pickerel, WI and make a stop for breakfast, lunch or supper! Definitely worth the trip!

History

Mole Lake Casino Restaurant

The Sokaogon Chippewa Community, Mole Lake Band of Lake Superior Chippewa reservation is situated in beautiful Northeastern Wisconsin. Mole Lake is home to one of the last remaining ancient wild rice beds in the state of Wisconsin. The Sokaogon Chippewa Community is also known as the Lost Tribe because the legal title to the 12 mile square reservation from the treaty of 1854 was lost in a shipwreck on Lake Superior. Under the provisions of the 1934 Reorganization Act, 1,745 acres of land were purchased for the Mole Lake Reservation. In 1930, a roll had been taken in the Mole Lake area and 199 Native Americans were determined to be in this band. They had been promised this land by a treaty signed with Franklin Pierce. This agent, who was to confirm the treaty and secure the land for them, drowned on his return trip from Washington. The Tribe, under the leadership of Chief Willard Ackley, received federal recognition and reservation status in 1937. To this day, the Tribe actively pursues any knowledge or document to support their claim to
the original treaty lands.
